As part of Lago Cold Store pavement upgrades, both asphalt and concrete pavement/hardstands were required to support the increased traffic volume and loads.
D&N were engaged to carry out geotechnical verification and modification of the proposed pavement design, in accordance with best for project outcomes and conforming to Brisbane City Council, and QLD TMR specifications.
The site is subjected to fully loaded B-Double trucks with high gross mass, limited information regarding truck movements per day was provided, and multiple designs and verifications were required to satisfy client requirements. The existing subgrade was variable and included existing fill material. Geotechnical assessment during construction, and design amendment(s) were key to delivering this project on time and budget.
