This project involved a full review of existing council owned and gravel pit quarries under Lachlan Shire Council jurisdiction.
D&N Geotechnical were commissioned to undertake a geotechnical assessment of 32 gravel pit quarry sites.
Works for the project included a site walker by a D&N senior geotechnical engineer to observe and map site hazards and features. We were able to visually present ground models and cross sections to demonstrate areas of high and low risk to people and property.
By effectively analysing each excavation, we were able to reduce required engineering controls across the quarries and allow our client to focus amending existing site features, controls and delineation of safe zones.
