This project comprised of constructing a replacement roof slab over an existing stormwater channel to resist additional traffic loading. Consequently, an increase on overall structural loading at the founding level of the existing culvert required a geotechnical investigation to characterise subsurface conditions.
D&N Geotechnical undertook the investigation for the project, which included a desktop review of existing data and advancing of auger boreholes, with provision of geotechnical parameters to support foundation design.
The investigation required the obtaining of all traffic approvals and careful planning to maintain site safety and avoidance of buried services which were extensive in this part of Parramatta CBD.
