Graduate / Early Career Environmental Scientist or Engineering Geologist – Sydney

Our Sydney team is seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist or Engineering Geologist to join our growing environmental and geotechnical services division. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to develop practical field, technical, and project delivery skills within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

You will work closely with experienced environmental scientists and geotechnical engineers to support the delivery of contaminated land, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure projects across NSW and the ACT.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Environmental Scientist/Engineer, you will:

• Assist with the coordination and delivery of environmental support and monitoring projects.
• Undertake fieldwork, including working alongside subcontractors to complete site investigations.
• Learn to use a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment across soil, water, and air.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across D&N’s national team.
• Actively develop your professional skills and competencies through on-the-job learning and mentoring.
• Support project administration and uphold D&N’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental processes.

About You

The successful applicant will:

• Hold a degree in Earth Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence and have full working rights in Australia.
• Have a strong interest in fieldwork and a willingness to travel to regional locations for projects.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills, with emerging technical report-writing skills.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn industry software packages (e.g., Surfer, Open Ground etc.).

Previous experience in environmental management, assessment, monitoring, or civil construction is not essential, though it would be considered an advantage.
